Welcome Middle School Soccer Parents

Welcome to the 2019 Shippensburg Middle School Soccer Program! We would like to introduce the new parents, as well as the returning parents, to the very active SASD Soccer Booster Club. It is imperative that you understand that the success of the Soccer Booster Club is dependant upon the involvement of parents.


Our booster club meets the second Monday of every month at Grace United Church of Christ on the corner of Orange and Prince Streets at 7:00 pm, with the exception of July, and those meetings are held at the fair stand at the Shippensburg Fair. In the past, the booster club has purchased nets for the high school field, coordinated end of season banquets for the high school and middle school programs, purchased the canopy for the high school field, and has provided new duffle bags and warm-up suits for both the boy’s and girl’s high school programs. The booster club also provides food for the Greencastle High School Tournament, warm-up shirts for all new high school players, and ball runners for all high school games. Senior nights and youth nights are also coordinated by the booster club.


Fundraising is a large piece of the booster club’s focus. The fundraising plan for 2019 includes Maplewood sandwiches, Holy Smokehouse dinners, the fair concessions, Smith’s BBQ chicken dinners, and Country Store Café baked goods. We ask that all players, both middle school and high school, participate in each of the fundraisers in order to meet all of our financial obligations.


The fair stand at the Shippensburg Fair is our primary fundraiser. Since it is the booster club’s primary fundraiser, we need support and commitment from both parents and players during fair week. The expectation is that every player and parent will volunteer at a minimum for a four hour shift throughout fair week. The 2019 Shippensburg Fair dates are July 22 to July 27 so please mark your calendars now. Your help is greatly needed.

Included in this packet is a player information sheet, an order form for socks, away game snack bag form, spirit wear order form, and the most recent schedule of games. We are asking that each of these forms be completed and returned to the coach no later than Wednesday, March 21st. Checks should be made payable to Shippensburg Soccer Booster Club (SSBC) and one check should be written for all items. It is not necessary to submit separate checks. 

* Please note that the Sports Athletic Fee is to be paid directly to the Middle School Office and should NOT be submitted to the booster club.

Please be sure you provide valid contact information on the attached form since this is our only way of contacting you regarding upcoming events, meeting notices, and games changes/cancellations. Email is our preferred way of contact so please provide a valid email address so we can keep you in the loop! We also have a website that we will be using for communication. We strongly encourage you to attend the meetings to share your ideas and thoughts on how we can help enrich the experience when playing soccer for the Shippensburg Greyhounds. We also encourage you to freely give of your time to help in the fair stand as well as all other areas of the booster club. Again, parental involvement is what will help our Soccer Booster Club be successful.
